We just had a super fun night helping Dr. Balsis and her family with the Christmas Care program! We wrapped presents, bagged apples, and packed grocery bags full of food. This program is very special for our community and it makes a big difference to the families who need a little help during this Christmas season.

Oct 2012 HSSM Spa day

In October of 2012, Lia (our groomer) wanted to treat the dogs at the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan (in Benton Harbor) to a day at the Spa….to help them get squeaky clean for the holidays.

She was also hoping to get them some publicity and help find each of them a forever home. We have been posting pictures of them on our FB page to try and generate awareness and share what a fun day we had with all of them.

She bathed a total of 30 dogs that day and was soaking wet and exhausted when it was over.

Christmas Care  2013

Christmas Care was founded by Jim and Sheri Kesterke (Dr. Balsis’s parents) when Dr. Balsis was 1 year old. This program provides groceries and toys to families in need during the holiday season. Christmas care has grown every year and recently assisted over 250 families within the community. Please contact Dr. Balsis if you would like to get involved and volunteer.

Mission trip to Honduras

Dr. Spink is traveling to Honduras in June 2013 to participate in a veterinary mission trip. She and her team travel to remote villages and provide free vaccinations, de-worming, and sterilization for dogs, cats, horses, cattle and pigs. The group usually treats around 400 animals. If you would like more information or are interested in sponsorship please call and talk to her. There are more pictures on our photo gallery.

World Vision child sponsorship

Two by Two has been sponsoring two children through World Vision (link). Their names are Joyti (from India) and Unduku (from Sri Lanka). We enjoy sharing little packages with them and it’s fun to watch them grow up through pictures and letters. Please check out our album next time you are in the office. We would encourage you to look into the World Vision mission and help transform communities through child sponsorship.
